- Rice flour 2 cup
- Coconut 1/2 grated
- Water as rqd
- Salt as rqd
Mix together salt and rice flour. Boil water and pour little by little into the flour and mix immediately using a big spoon. Keep it aside for few minutes and mix it well. Put the dough into the idiyappam maker and press little on the idli steamer and put grated coconut on the top. Then press rest of the dough to the top of the coconut. Steam it well.

1)the idiappams will be more delicious if you add some coconut milk while kneading the dough.
2) the dough will be smoother if you add the rice flour to warm water (and not the other way around)till the right consistency is attained. (In this method, salt/coconut milk can be added to the water before adding in the flour)
